I’m just as guilty as the next person for passing on bad information. I used to take articles and blogs at their word without looking into the research; I would then pass that information on.

With so much false and unproven information in the fitness industry I’ve found that research to back up claims is becoming exceedingly important. Think of any other field, law for example. Without legitimate proof in court would you send someone to jail? So why should this be any different in the fitness industry, why do we jump and latch onto trends without looking at the research before we spread the word like wildfire?

It seems like everyone in the fitness industry is looking at posture as a predictor of injury and pain. I posted a question on Fitness Conversations (a facebook page for debates on everything fitness) asking about glute recruitment for people in an anterior pelvic tilt, I ended up receiving some solid information that made me question everything I thought I knew about hip alignment, movement and pain.
